According to China Solar network news, the world's largest solar powered ship "planet sun" was launched in the German city of Kiel on the 25th and will be driven by two adventurers next year. It is expected to become the first ship to travel around the world only powered by solar energy.

The ship is 31 meters long, 15 meters wide and weighs 60 tons. The 500 square meter solar panel above the hull provides power for the ship, with a maximum speed of 26 kilometers per hour. It is called "formula one on the sea" by its builders. The whole cabin can accommodate more than 50 people. After a full charge, the ship can operate normally for 3 days even in the absence of sunshine.
